Yoga for Emotional Wellbeing
Tuesday 5.30 -7pm
‘Embodying Change’ is a Vinyasa flow class in which breath and movement are co-ordinated to ensure holistic and mindful embodiment. Classes are created to help people connect more fully to their bodies, promoting body acceptance and an improved sense of lived-embodiment.
The class starts with an intention being set for the week before moving into a pranayama exercise to help participants connect to their breath and prepare for the asana practice. A Vinyasa flow sequence then follows to create heat and to build strength and power. The class then slows down with some calmer, more focused asanas before relaxing into a short guided meditation leading into savasana.
The class is suited to those who have some previous experience of yoga as some of the flow practices can be powerful and intense, with some poses within the Vinyasa sequence being held for a number of breaths.
